Fee-for-Service Nurse Practitioner

Fee-for-Service Nurse Practitioner

Nurse practitioners in independent practice operate on a fee-for-service basis, as their services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). This model allows patients to benefit from timely appointments without the restriction of addressing only one issue per visit.

Fee Structure:
  • Initial Visit: 45 minutes (15 minutes for file review/medications/notes, etc. and 30 minutes for consultation)
  • Follow-Up Visits: 30 minutes, with additional time billed in 30-minute increments based on the same rate.

This approach ensures you receive personalized, in-depth care tailored to your needs. Fees reflect the NP’s time and expertise, offering flexibility and comprehensive attention to your health concerns.
